China Glaze Pelican Grey and an Epic Fail

Hello all!

So on this very rainy afternoon I decided to try an experiment. I remember from a while ago, a mani that had a plaid or woven kind of pattern and I was in the mood to give it a shot. I used China Glaze Pelican Grey as a base and then used some acrylic craft paint to try and replicate the design.

Needless to say is was a disaster. I have very little competency drawing or writing with my left hand, so my right hand's mani came out awful. Luckily, one of the best reasons to use acrylic paint for a mani is you can always scrub it off of the regular nail polish you have on! So now I have little, but very pretty grey nubbin nails. lol

Photobucket
The left hand didn't come out too bad!

Photobucket
Just a few weird lines.

Photobucket
The right hand looks so awful!

Photobucket
This is going to take some serious practice!

Is there anyone out there that actually paint well with their less dominant hand?

See you soon!

Sinful Color Dotticure!

Hey everyone!

Today I have a short post for you but it packs a lot of punch! A while back I did a dotticue (mani with dots) and it got so many compliments!

I re-did it again this past week but without the colors on the accent nail, and the accent nail was the only one with tons of dots. All the other nails simply had 3 dots going up one side. :) Very classic.

This mani was so much fun, if a little distracting! I am not used to so much going on on my finger tips!

The black was mostly Sinful Color polish. Mainly old standbys Black on Black, Snow Me White. The colors were really just what I had lying about at the time. I will update with the names (Too lazy to climb all the stairs to my polish area lol).

What do you think? It is super easy and fun to do. Maybe I can get my butt into making some tutorials, though everything I do on here is pretty much seen everywhere lol. I have a hard time beating the bandwagon.

See you soon!

Life Update

Hey all!

Sorry for not posting, but we have had a tiny new addition to the family. I have adopted a second hedgehog from a lady who was using him as a classroom pet. -_-;

His new name is Navi and is settling in well. I have a quick mani that I did yesterday but no pics yet because it hasn't stopped raining. It is kind of fitting for the weather- China Glaze Hook and Line from the Hunger Games collection and I topped it with China Glaze White Capped.

Photobucket is being weird again, but it may be because of the weather or something. I will try to post some new pics later today/tonight. :)

See you soon!

Sinful Colors Savage and Puppy Nail Art

So did I say tomorrow? I ment in a few days. lol

The blue is actually a very pretty teal. I could not get it to photograph the true color. It is Sinful Colors Savage. The white for the dog is Sinful Color Snow Me White and the beige on the face is NYC Mulberry Street. The black for the dots is just a random striping polish I had on hand.

Crackle Fall Mani with China Glaze and Sinful Colors

Hello all!

Sorry, sorry, sorry! I haven't forgotten about you and we are FINALLY finished moving. Now the unpacking begins. lol. But I had a few minutes to myself today for the first time in a week and decided to play with some of my fall themed untrieds.

nails008-1
OK. So photobucket.com hates me today so I am sorry about some of the images. Maybe eventually I will figure this thing out! lol. So on my ring and middle finger I have Sinful Colors Country Orange. It is one of my favorite pumpkin oranges, with a gold shimmer. The green on my index, pinky and thumb is China Glaze Agro from the Hunger Games Collection. It is an amazing olive-y green with lots of gold shimmer.

Photobucket
The crackle was a gift from a friend at work. I have not been a fan of crackle in the past but this China Glaze Cracked Medalion has made a believer out of me.

Photobucket
This mani has gotten me in the mood for fall, it is just too bad I did them outside on my new balcony in the 80 degree F heat. -_-; I think I got a tan too. >sigh<

Tomorrow, a puppy mani that I found on youtube and got tons of compliments on last week!

See you soon!

Revlon Black Lingerie and Glitter Gradient

Hello all!

After having naked nails for almost a week now >gasp< I couldn't take it anymore and decided to sit down and paint! Because me nails are super stubby after multiple bad breaks last Sunday, I decided to go with a new black I picked up. Revlon Black Lingerie was in a two pack with Revlon Blue Lagoon and I got them both from Big Lots last week for $2!

Black Lingerie was interesting for a black polish. It obviously has a blue tint to the base and the first coat was super thin and streaky, but I evened it out with a second. Now, short black nails are all well and good-- for other people. Lol. On me, with my super light skin I tend to look a little gothic. So an obvious cure? GLITTER.

I have no idea why my pics won't resize today. -_-; Sorry for the crappy HUGE quality...

Anywho the first glitter in the gradient is Pure Ice Cheatin. I picked it up at Walmart on one of my infrequent trips there. The micro blue and purple glitter was so pretty, it couldn't be passed up.
Photobucket

Holy hell, another GIANT image. >sigh< Anyway, that's Cheatin with no underwear, one coat. I need a better camera!

Well I topped the whole thing with Orly Can't be Tamed. It is a small silver glitter with larger hexagon purple glitter. It helped to blend the Iced layers.

For my first glitter gradient, I think it went rather well. Next time though, I may pair these with a purple undercoat as with the lighting in my house right now, the glitter is lost. :(

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Does anyone have a fun mani planned for Labor Day?

See you soon!

Fimo Nail Art and a Gradient

Hello all!

So today I have a mani that I did last week. I actually had some time on my hands so I decided to play with some of the Fimo canes a friend from work gave me. I will need a lot more practice cutting the canes to the proper thickness. lol. My mani came out super chunky and the flowers didn't even last five hours! But I also just stuck them on with seche vite top coat. After a little research I found that nail glue is a more approprate adhesive.
Photobucket
For the gradient I used Sinful Colors Savage and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Lacey Lilac. I just dabbed some of both onto a piece of tin foil and then used a clean triange makeup sponge to sponge them onto the nail. Please forgive the lack of clean-up. I was headed into the shower after and planned to use the hot water to get most of the excess off. I usually use a small angled make-up brush with nail polish remover on it.

I promise to get better at clean up so that the pics I post ook better.
Today though, my nails are still naked and -- just throwing this out there... I hate packing. :(

See you soon!

Revlon Blushed with nail art and First Post!

Hello!

So I am new to the blog-o-sphere but I have developed a passion and it is one I have been dying to share.

Nail polish.

Sounds crazy right? But for the past year this hobby has become something of a >slight< obsession of mine. Or maybe a little more... An addiction? Anyway, let's not label it too harshly.

Nail polish, nail art and scouring the web for swatches and the latest designs have kept me busy and have only fueled the fire for this addiction. Not to mention finding the best sales then blowing some money on 9 bottles of polish at a time. Lol. Atleast I have a budget system in place now. :)

So on to the Blog!

I am hoping to make this a weekly blog where I can post all of my NOTD (Nails of the Day) or nail art that I come up with. Currently, I have naked nails because the bf and I are packing for a move. But I have some older art that I can show you today to kick off the site!

This is Revlon Blushed with Sinful Colors Black on Black. The paw prints were made using a dotting tool. Simple but cute.

Ok, this picture thing is going to take some time to work out. But this will get us started!
